I do agree with you on the shielding, it may, or may not, naturally block the transporter transmissions. So its better to air on the side of caution, when thinking of a strategy.Individual Borg rarely speak, though they do send a collective audio message to their targets, stating that "resistance is futile", generally followed by a declaration that the target in question will be assimilated and its "biological and technological distinctiveness" will be added to their own. The exact phrasing varies and evolves over the various series episodes and film. Porgs are an adorable furry new creature in the Star Wars universe, appearing in the upcoming The Last Jedi. In March of 2001, Activision announced a game called Star Trek: Borg Assimilator, in which the player would play a Borg. Though it was planned to be released that winter, Activision later cancelled the game's development. First seen swiping Luke Skywalker off his tauntaun, and last seen losing what was possibly its swiping arm, this white-furred carnivore hunts in the snowy wastelands of Hoth. The wampa stands on two legs and has powerful claws, which it uses to stun its prey before chilling and devouring it back in its cave. The problem is not only is that inherently illogical (hence, why it is called a fallacy), but even within Trek, it doesn't really hold. The Borg were virtually crushed by Species 8472, proving they are hardly invincible. Even in their first appearance, the Enterprise inflicted severe damage to the Cube and could have almost certainly destroyed it if Picard had not been so concerned with proving his moral superiority. And even in subsequent encounters, the Enterprise (and later, Voyager) could put up a fight.

Patrick Stewart stars as science professor Ian Hood, who works for the Home Office as a consultant on special dangerous cases that involve deadly viruses, cloning experiments etc. Special Branch agent Rachel Young is his partner. In the graphic novel Star Trek: The Manga, the Borg resulted from an experiment in medical nanotechnology gone wrong. An alien species under threat of extinction by an incurable disease created a repository satellite containing test subjects infused with body parts, organs, and DNA of multiple species along with cybernetic enhancements put in place by advanced medical technology. The satellite was maintained by nanomachines, which also maintained the medical equipment on board. The medical facility is parked in orbit by a black hole, and along with the relativistic state of time around the black hole, allows long-term research to continue at an accelerated time scale rather than in real-time speed. As the medical facility deteriorates, so does the programming of the nanomachines. The nanomachines began infusing themselves into the patients, interpreting them as part of the satellite in need of repair. Among the patients is the daughter of the head medical researcher of the satellite. The satellite eventually falls apart in an encounter with an away team from the Enterprise under the command of James T. Kirk. In the final moments of the satellite's destruction and the escape of the crew members of the Enterprise with the patients, the subjects display qualities inherently resembling the Borg: injection of nanomachines in a fashion similar to assimilation, rapid adaptation to weaponry, and a hive mind consciousness, as all the subjects begin following the whim of the daughter. As succumbing to the disease was inevitable, and the corrupt nanomachine programming infused itself into the bodies, the final image of the page of the manga Borg origin is left with the daughter turned Borg Queen, stating, "Resistance is futile." No, I'm saying that the two versions contradict each other, and the movies are the authoritative source.

The Borg Queen is the focal point within the Borg collective consciousness and a unique drone within the Collective, who brings "order to chaos", referring to herself as "we" and "I" interchangeably. In First Contact, the Queen's dialogue suggests she is an expression of the Borg Collective's overall intelligence, not a controller but the avatar of the entire Collective as an individual. This sentiment is contradicted by Star Trek: Voyager, where she is seen explicitly directing, commanding, and in one instance even overriding the Collective. The introduction of the Queen radically changed the canonical understanding of the Borg function, with the authors of The Computers of Star Trek noting "It was a lot easier for viewers to focus on a villain rather than a hive-mind that made decisions based on the input of all its members."[9] First Contact writers Brannon Braga and Ronald D. Moore have defended the introduction of the Queen as a dramatic necessity, noting on the film's DVD audio commentary that they had initially written the film with drones, but then found that it was essential for the main characters to have someone to interact with beyond mindless drones. This topic has come up many, many times over the years. The Borg winning tends to revolve completely around invoking a no-limits fallacy in their favor; they can adapt to some things, therefore they can adapt to ANYTHING; they can assimilate some things, therefore they can assimilate ANYTHING. The probes maintain the Borg cybernetic systems and repair damage to the organic parts of a Borg. They generate new technology inside a Borg when needed and protect them from many forms of disease. Borg nanoprobes, each about the size of a human red blood cell, travel through the victim's bloodstream and attach to individual cells. The nanoprobes rewrite the cellular DNA, altering the victim's biochemistry, and eventually form larger, more complicated structures and networks within the body, like electrical pathways, processing and data-storage nodes, and ultimately prosthetic devices that spring forth from the skin. In "Mortal Coil", Seven of Nine states that the Borg assimilated the nanoprobe technology from "Species 149". In addition, the nanoprobes maintain and repair their host's mechanical and biological components on a microscopic level, imparting regenerative capabilities. @Freefa11: Nicely said. As I said I wasn't sure of the specifics on weapons/shields, but obviously you know more about it. I definitely don't think this will be as easy as people suggest, and if what all you say is true (not saying you are wrong) then it seems the Empire will come out on top. Great points about the Enterprise, Voyager, and Species 8472! Thanks for the info and great input!Ion cannons area very effective weapon to use against eletrical constructs and systems. The fact that the Hoth Ion Cannon disabled a Star Destroyer for a few minutes is a nod to how powerful said cannon was. Star Destroyers are equipped with ion cannons as well, and a few shots from one would likely leave a Cube dead in space.

Where do you get that Quantum Torpedoes can damage Neutronium? Please cite a reference that can be examined. "desalinizes"? deslination is the process of removing salt from a composition. @Freefa11: I don't know if these informations are even canon? But regardless: Borg can adapt their shields, cubes can function normally even if 80% of the vessel has been destroyed, they can regenerate themselves, they can beam through shields, they can possess new knowledge by assimilating their enemies... Can Empire do that? No. About Species 8472, nine of their ships could destroy a planet, just like Death Star. Like Han Solo said: it would take a thousand Empire ships to do this same... So, no single 8472 bioship is far more powerful than Imperial Star Destroyer. Also Empire ships were destroyed or crippled by - first Death Star by single X-wing piloted by inexperienced farm boy, second Death Star by old smuggler ship, ISD above Hoth by single blast from ion cannon, Super ISD by single kamikaze fighter... And this should be adversary for the Borg? :)@Skaddix: Blasters are not laser weapons. They do not operate on any frequency. Blasters come in two different forms. One fires a super hot, high energy particle beam called a blaster bolt. Not a laser, a particle beam. Two completely different things. Particle beams do not operate on frequency ranges, they operate by impacting and disrupting matter on an atomic level. The most common blaster of this type is the E-11 Blaster Rifle. Compilation of Star Wars Porgs from the Last Jedi Even if the Borg do infiltrate a Star Destroyer, they still have to deal with the thousands of stormtroopers and other naval personnel garrisoned inside the ship. Fact, Borg drones are extremely slow and clumsy things. There are 26 major episodes featuring the Borg in Voyager, however there are about 100 if counting those with Seven of Nine.[11] In the Star Trek: Enterprise episode "Regeneration", the remnants of the destroyed sphere from Star Trek: First Contact are discovered in the Arctic along with two frozen drones. The Borg steal a research ship and send a transmission toward the Delta Quadrant before they are destroyed, creating a perpetual time loop/predestination paradox. The Star Trek Encyclopedia speculates that a connection could exist between the Borg and V'ger, the vessel encountered in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. This idea of a connection is advanced in William Shatner's novel The Return. The connection was also suggested in a letter included in Starlog no. 160 (November 1990). The letter writer, Christopher Haviland, also speculated that the original Borg drones were members of a race called "the Preservers", which Spock had suggested in the original series episode "The Paradise Syndrome" might be responsible for why so many humanoids populate the galaxy. It was confirmed in the TNG episode "The Chase" that an ancient species seeded hundreds, if not thousands of planets with their DNA, creating the Humans, Vulcans, (and Romulans as they are a Vulcan offshoot race) Cardassians and others. Let's talk about Star Wars: The Last Jedi's most divisive part: porgs

  1. @WillPayton: EU versions are just as valid as the movie counterparts. The Prequel Trilogy didnt do a whole lot right, but they got the idea about Clone Troopers. They are portrayed as highly competent, efficient soldiers. Guess what the initial ranks of Stormtroopers consisted of? Thats, right. Clone Troopers.
  2. All this shows is that the Stormtroopers in the movies and the books are two completely different versions. Since the movies are the original source material and what most people are familiar with, it seems reasonable that that's the version to be used here.
  3. Meet the Porgs, the Adorable Little Star Wars Creatures You Are Now Contractually Obligated to Love. By Nate Jones
  4. The Borg exist in Star Trek to assimilate and that includes the planet Earth. But did they have a go at invading after The Next Generation
  5. A giant reptilian creature — some can grow more than 300 feet tall — that is heavily armored and has a long, spiked tail, often used as a whip. Zillo beasts were thought to be extinct until one was awakened, as seen in the “Star Wars” animated series “The Clone Wars”.
  6. Also, I've seen people throw around the no limits fallacy a lot when arguing about the Borg; while it is certainly a valid point, it in itself, does not rule out the possibility of assimilation being a valid tactic, especially based on the Borg's previous encounters.

  2. Some species, for various stated reasons, are able to resist assimilation by nanoprobes. Species 8472 is the only race shown to be capable of completely rejecting assimilation attempts. Other species, such as the Hirogen, have demonstrated resistance to assimilation as well as Dr Phlox, who was able to partially resist the assimilation process in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode "Regeneration".[6]
  3. The Borg represented a new antagonist and regular enemy that was lacking during the first season of TNG; the Klingons were allies and the Romulans mostly absent. The Ferengi were originally intended as the new enemy for the United Federation of Planets, but their comical appearance and devotion to capitalist accumulation by free enterprise failed to portray them as a convincing threat. The Borg, however, with their frightening appearance, their immense power, and their sinister motive, became the signature villains for the TNG and Voyager eras of Star Trek. In Voyager episode "Q2", even Q tells his son, "Don't provoke the Borg."
  4. In the Star Trek novel Probe, which takes place following the events of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, the Borg are mentioned obliquely in communication with the whale-probe as spacefaring "mites" (the whale-probe's term for humanoid races) who traveled in cubical and spherical spacefaring vessels; the Borg apparently attacked the whale-probe and damaged its memory in some fashion before the events of the film.

But can the Death Star hold back an entire armada of Borg cubes? Only one cube has to make it to within transporter range and then it's done. Assimilation begins. One thing I'll note is that the Borg are pretty good at infiltrating ships undetected and setting up some sort of base of operations, and normally in a somewhat secure area. Whether or not they keep it is a different story. That's if they can get passed the shielding. If they can adopt to the weapons, it increases their chances of gaining a stronghold in the larger ships, and they only really need a few samples of any tech to properly adjust to their strategy to stand a better chance.

The Borg should take this. If you remember right they can readapt their shields almost instantaneously after being hit by any energy weapon. Not to mention once they assimilating people, they will get full knowledge of the Empire's tactics, weaponry, ships, shields, defenses, weaknesses, races, etc. Depending on who they assimilate into their hive mind. Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been helmed as 'the best film since The Empire Strikes Back' - and it might, just might, have something to do with the cute little Porgs that were introduced in the new movie The Borg have not only demonstrated that they are capable of assimilating foreign technologies, but also that they can assimilate foreign knowledge/skill sets into their collective by assimilating actual persons. Even if we assume the premiss that the Borg can't assimilate The Empire's tech because it is based on fields of science that they haven't discovered yet, the Borg could simply abduct scientist and engineers that do have this knowledge, and assimilate them into the Borg collective to gain their knowledge. I absolutely, though, understand Star Wars fans and, you know, I'm one of them, I understand being suspicious of anything that's too adorable in Star Wars, said Johnson. Though the Borg do not appear, in the Star Trek: Discovery episode "Perpetual Infinity", Captain Leland of Section 31 is infected with nanites by the time-traveling rogue artificial intelligence known as Control. Leland displays characteristics similar to Borg drones, including black veins and a heightened ability to adapt in combat, leading some fans to speculate that Control is connected to the origin of the Borg or reverse engineered from recovered Borg tech. In addition, the Borg are known for their possession of transwarp technology, which allows them to travel to any section of the galaxy in an instant. Some fans suggest the technology may have been derived from Discovery's spore drive though there is no evidence to support this as of yet. The extra section of the game Star Trek: Legacy contains the supposed "Origin of the Borg", which tells the story of V'ger being sucked into a black hole. V'ger was found by a race of living machines that gave it a form suitable to fulfilling its simplistic programming. Unable to determine who its creator could be, the probe declared all carbon-based life an infestation of the creator's universe, leading to assimilation. From this, the Borg were created, as extensions of V'ger's purpose. Drones were made from those assimilated and merged into a collective consciousness. The Borg Queen was created out of the necessity for a single unifying voice. With thoughts and desires of her own, she was no longer bound to serve V'ger. The Borg first appear in the Star Trek: The Next Generation second-season episode "Q Who?", when the omnipotent life-form Q hurls the Enterprise-D across the galaxy to challenge Jean-Luc Picard's assertion that his crew is ready to face the galaxy's dangers and mysteries. The Enterprise crew is overwhelmed by the Borg, and Picard begs for and receives Q's help in returning the ship to its previous coordinates.

The porgs debuted in the Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer, and fans are excited! 'Tis the season of Star Wars hype, and nothing has fans more hyped than this panicky little penguin thing from the new.. Some Borg have been shown to be far stronger than humans, able to easily overpower most humans and similar species. Typical Borg have never been seen to run, instead moving in a deliberate fashion, never retreating.[citation needed] Borg are highly resistant to energy-based weapons, having personal shielding that quickly adapts to them. In various episodes, phasers and other directed energy weapons tend to quickly become ineffective as the Borg are able to adapt to the specific frequencies on which these weapons are projected once a ship or an individual drone is struck down by them. Later attempts to modulate phaser and other weapon frequencies have had limited success. Borg shields have, however, proven to be ineffective protection against projectile or melee weapons, but this could prove problematic, given that in space travel, puncturing the hull with an errant shot could have catastrophic consequences.

"Resistance is futile"edit

The sheer size and potency of the Empire will crush the Borg collective, as they lack the firepower to penetrate the super structure's defenses, and the foresight of Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, and other Force sensitives of the Empire will be able to deal with Borg assimilation techniques via purging the technology via Force techniques.Borg possess a "cortical node" that controls other implanted cybernetic devices within a Borg's body; it is most often implanted in the forehead above the organic eye. If the cortical node fails, the Borg eventually dies. Successful replacement of the node can be carried out on a Borg vessel. When the Sultan's firstborn is taken by an evil sorcerer, Sinbad is tasked with travelling to a desert of magic and creatures to save her. It isn't going to matter if a Cube can regenerate itself if the whole thing is blasted asunder in a few shots (ISD heavy turbolaser batteries are chainlinked to fire 8 at a time). Can a Borg Cube withstand up to a total of 1,600 gigatons of force impacting it in the span of a few seconds?Since we are applying both universes rules into this thread, it might be possible for Executor class Star Dreadnoughts to do a LOT of damage. No ST shielding to my knowledge can withstand a barrage of heavy turbolaser fire whose impact force is up in the gigatons per shot.

Oooo, there are plenty of contradictions between EU and the movies... Look only at Jedi in Tarkovsky's Clone wars... completely differentIn William Shatner's novel The Return, Spock is nearly assimilated by the Borg, but is saved because he mind-melded with V'ger, an earlier form of the Borg, and they assume that he is already a Borg. Using the information he subconsciously acquired in the meld, Spock is able to lead a crew of Enterprise officers (consisting of the Enterprise-D crew, himself, Admiral McCoy, and the resurrected Kirk) in a Defiant-class ship to destroy the Borg central node, severing all branches of the Collective from each other and limiting their future threat. There is only one appearance of Borg in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, in the series premiere "Emissary".[11] The episode's prologue depicts Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks) as an officer on the USS Saratoga, in the Starfleet armada dispatched to confront the Borg at Wolf 359. The Saratoga is destroyed by the Borg, killing Sisko's wife, Jennifer. Later in the episode, Sisko's meeting with Picard is tense, as he blames Picard for the actions of Locutus. Throughout the remainder of the series, references to the Borg are made occasionally, including the design of their ship, USS Defiant, and the battle from Star Trek: First Contact being used as a plot point in the fifth season, when Starfleet is spread too thin to deal with a Dominion incursion. Welcome to the Parzi's Star Wars Mod wiki! (Mostly fully updated for 1.3.0). We are just fans of Star Wars and could never possibly know everything about the entire universe.. The Borg have become a symbol in popular culture for any juggernaut against which "resistance is futile".

Then you have the Death Star, Death Star II, Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, All of the Emperor's Hands, The Inquisitors, Millions of Imperial Naval Troops, TIE fighters, and several other support and assault spacecraftIn the fifth season, we see the Borg in "Drone", where an advanced Borg drone is created when Seven of Nine's nanoprobes are fused with the Doctor's mobile emitter in a transporter accident. The Borg play a peripheral role in "Infinite Regress", when Seven of Nine is exposed to a weapon against the Borg that essentially causes her to suffer from multiple personality disorder (MPD), reverting to the personas of various people she assimilated while in the Collective. In "Dark Frontier", Voyager steals and uses a transwarp coil to both rescue Seven of Nine from the Borg Queen and then knock another fifteen years off their journey home before the coil burns out. The kamikaze fighter hit the Super Star Destroyer's bridge, it didnt destroy the entire ship. What do you think is going to happen when a starship slams into the place where the actual operation of the ship is taking place? And the entire thing reeks of PIS on the Empire's side, the plot called for said action to happen, therefore it did. The enigmatic Borg Queen is the central locus of the Borg Collective. She brings order to the legions of voices within the Hive mind and provides a common direction..

From 'most entertaining Star Wars movie in many a moon' to 'appallingly purified', Rian Johnson's film has critics at the New Yorker, CNN and elsewhere divided Assimilation is the process by which the Borg integrate beings, cultures, and technology into the Collective. "You will be assimilated" is one of the few on-screen phrases employed by the Borg when communicating with other species. The Borg are portrayed as having found and assimilated thousands of species and billions to trillions of individual life-forms throughout the galaxy. The Borg designate each species with a number assigned to them upon first contact, humanity being 'Species 5618'. As you can see, the Porg Star is not yet fully operational. @Kadeem: At least the Emperor and Darth Vader. I'd add Count Dooku and Darth Maul and all the other Sith lords that are available, but I don't think there were very many at the height of the Empire's power. When the crew of the Enterprise learn of a Federation conspiracy against the inhabitants of a unique planet, Captain Picard begins an open rebellion.

It's seventeen years after the return of Voyager. The Alpha quadrant has been preparing for the return of the Borg, primarily by investing massive R&D in offensive and defensive weaponry. During the long peace, the Federation and Klingon alliance has been wearing thin, with the younger factions seeking a return to the old ways. Meanwhile, the Federation, taking advantage of a détente with the Romulans, have cautiously begun to work to with them on "holocloak" technology, a combination of a "holodeck" and a cloaking device. Technically, this is a violation of the treaty of Algeron, which forbids the Federation the use of cloaking technology. While the treaty is technically between the Federation and the Romulans, the Federation's willingness to forgo cloaking is a linchpin of the Federation and Klingon alliance. The consensus at Starfleet is that the free races of the Alpha quadrant must work together if the next Borg invasion is to be successfully repelled. However, because the ... Written by Geoffrey James The SWverse Turbolasers are not lasers really. They are directed energy weapons, and are shown to have kinetic force in the gigaton range. Lasers are directed light waves so dense they can burn stuff. The SWtech is quite a bit different, as they more resemble plasma based weaponry than lasers.

Of course not, there has never been a cross-over to my knowledge. However, based on the power of the SW shield systems, and the inherent limitations of transport technology (that preclude transporting through many solid substances and types of interference) I feel justified in saying that the probability is against the Borg.In the novel Lost Souls (the third book in the Star Trek: Destiny trilogy), the Borg are revealed to be the survivors of the Caeliar city Mantilis. Thrown across the galaxy in the Delta Quadrant and back in time to about 4500 BC by the destruction of Erigol at the climax of Gods of Night, the first book in the trilogy, a group of human survivors from the starship Columbia (NX-02) and Caeliar scientists try to survive in a harsh arctic climate. Most of the human survivors die of exposure, while several Caeliar are absorbed into their race's gestalt to give life to the others in their group mind. The Caeliar offer the remaining humans a merging of human and Caeliar, to allow both groups to survive. The human survivors are resistant and as time goes on, the Caeliar called Sedin becomes the sole survivor of her group, her mental processes and her form both degrading as time goes on. When the humans return to Sedin for help, she forces them to merge with her, unwilling to allow herself to die when a union can save her life. The forced merging of the humans and the mostly decayed Caeliar results in the creation of the first Borg. The gestalt group mind is perverted to become the collective, driven by Sedin's desperate hunger and need to add the strength, technology, and life-force of others to her own. Ironically, while the Caeliar were–albeit accidentally–involved in the creation of the Borg, they also provide the means to end it; in the 24th century, the Caeliar absorb the entire Borg collective back into themselves, ending the cyborgs' centuries-long reign of terror. Your comment on the Death Star is valid, exception of a few points you left out of the argument. Do you realize said farm boy ended up becoming the single most powerful Jedi in Galactic history? And that Luke was an exceptional pilot, with The Force on his side, who exploited a singular weakness in the Death Star's design, something the Borg would know absolutely nothing about? In 2017, SYFY listed "I, Borg" among the 25 best science fiction episodes of the last 25 years.[13] All the Borg have really proven is that they can adapt to and assimilate technologies that are already fairly similar to their own in both design and sophistication. Empire technology is far more powerful, and operates on completely different kinds of physics (hypermatter based, just as a start). There's really not much reason to believe the Borg could adapt to/assimilate such advanced technologies at all, let alone quickly enough to sway things in their favor. The Borg could barely even handle the Voyager when it was retrofitted with future tech from just a few decades ahead of time. The Empire is going to be one-shotting cubes left and right before they can do much of anything, and the effectiveness of Borg raiding parties is highly questionable, not only for the above reasons, but because there is no indication that Borg drones can adapt to anything besides frequency based energy weapons, and I do not believe blasters have that dependency. Not only that, but Stormtroopers are better trained in HtH than redshirts, and are obviously better armored, and Borg drones are slow, clumsy, and can be easily disabled by pulling any wire out of their head. And this is all assuming the Borg can transport through Empire shields (really not sure why they would be able to).

Remember in “Return of the Jedi” when Luke was going to have to walk the plank into a scary pit with a hungry monster at the bottom? That monster is the Sarlacc. According to C-3PO: “In his belly, you will find a new definition of pain and suffering as you are slowly digested over 1,000 years.” Regular Imperial II Star Destroyers are going to be one shotting Borg cubes left and right, and even if they do manage to infiltrate a ship, they still have thousands of stormtroopers and other military personnel to deal with on ONE ship (God help them if they encounter Palpatine, Vader, Boba, Mara Jade, etc.)

The Borg next appear in The Next Generation's third-season finale and fourth-season premiere, "The Best of Both Worlds". Picard is abducted and assimilated by the Borg and transformed into Locutus, the Latin for "he who speaks". Picard's knowledge of Starfleet's strengths and strategies is gained by the Collective, and the single cube destroys the entire Starfleet armada at Wolf 359. The Enterprise crew manages to capture Locutus, gain information through him that allows them to destroy the cube, and then reverse the assimilation process. Very hard for me... star trek is more flashy, but I really don't know how to compare their fire power. IMO borg personal shields were not all that strong anyways, and who knows what kind of modulation frequency problems the borg could have (but that is just wishful thinking perhaps). At the same time, Star Wars U upper tier characters could do some pretty awesome mind raping etc to borg queens for example. And I am SURE the death star can take out cubes..Not to mention the Sun Crusher could theoretically be included in the Empire's armament, since it was commissioned by Grand Moff Tarkin. The Sun Crusher had the ability to destroy entire star systems, by causing the system's star to go supernova.

The Borg travel back in time intent on preventing Earth's first contact with an alien species. Captain Picard and his crew pursue them to ensure that Zefram Cochrane makes his maiden flight reaching warp speed. The capability of nanoprobes to absorb improved technologies they find into the Borg collective is shown in the Voyager episode "Drone", where Seven of Nine's nanoprobes are fused with the Doctor's mobile emitter that uses technology from the 29th century, creating a 29th-century drone existing outside the Collective, with capabilities far surpassing that of the 24th-century drones.

Nice argument, but there are a few errors to consider. First, there are millions of populated worlds in SW and many with populations in the billions. Even if the Empire could only support say .1% of the population into service they still far out number the Borg. Second, The Empire has far more ships of war than the Borg. Their Shields and Weapons are stronger than the Borg (going off the technical specs of both). SW ships travel faster than even the borg through transwarp conduits. Also, Sub-space and Hypersapce are not the same thing - ships in Sub-Space can be attacked by each other; ships in Hyperspace can not (as each ship generates it own domain, that is not detectable to other ships). Due to the Strength of the SW shields, I will say with out a doubt that the Borg will not be able to transport through them. Because of this, the Borg would have to knock down the SW shields before boarding and assimilating - this is not going to happen. Be Unique. The only real issue I have is if people automatically take away their ability to adopt or adjust, you're pretty much making this 1 sided battle. If this a battle against the Zerg, or Tyranids I would agree against assimilation based on their encounter with 8472. There are technology based races like the Voth that are more advanced than the Borg. I'm certain that if the Voth (hyperthetically) gave them a ship they could assimilate it, but outside of that, the Borg simply would never survive long enough to get a chance to assimilate their tech. I'm just not certain if the Empire is at that level. Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise, created by George Lucas and centered around a film series that began with the eponymous 1977.. Borg civilization is based on a hive or group mind known as the Collective. Each Borg drone is linked to the collective by a sophisticated subspace network that ensures each member is given constant supervision and guidance. The mental energy of the group consciousness can help an injured or damaged drone heal or regenerate damaged body parts or technology. The collective consciousness not only gives them the ability to "share the same thoughts", but also to adapt with great speed to tactics used against them.[3] Drones in the Collective are never seen speaking, but a collective "voice" is sometimes transmitted to ships. The new Star Wars film — The Last Jedi — is bringing with it the porgs. It is still unclear what role the porgs are playing in the new Star Wars film (unless you've seen the movie-please keep those.. Regardless of the power output, if the Empire is using lasers as their weapons, then they will have ZERO impact on the Borg. This is because the Borg have the same type of shields that the Feds have, and it's been stated even in TOS that their shields have no problem deflecting lasers.

The origin of the Borg is never made clear, though they are portrayed as having existed for hundreds of thousands of years (as attested by Guinan and the Borg Queen). In Star Trek: First Contact, the Borg Queen merely states that the Borg were once much like humanity, "flawed and weak", but gradually developed into a partially synthetic species in an ongoing attempt to evolve and perfect themselves. @Freefa11: The main issue I see with your argument is using assimilating 8472 as an example against a resistant species when we are talking about possible advanced or foreign technology. The issue with 8472 was their biological nature not their tech. 7-of-9's nano-probs had no issue assimilating the doctors portable Holo-emitter and that was futuristic tech and the process occurred by accident. The other issue I see is that you're using future Voyager technology as an example when it was specifically adopted, or at least utilized by the future version of the captain, to combat the Borg (the captain even acknowledge that the Borg would eventually adopt). The point being, there is no reason to assume the Empire would have tech that would be hard for the Borg to adopt to when they have not faced such a species.
