When you use the P9’s camera, Huawei wants you to feel like you’re using one of Leica’s high-end cameras. The UI gives you the choice of three Leica film modes: Standard, Vivid Colors, and Smooth Colors, so you can tweak the image to your liking. Huawei says that each film mode imitates the effects you’d get with a Leica camera. There’s even a monochrome mode, for those who like black and white photography. 241 for huawei p9 power bank products are offered for sale by suppliers on Alibaba.com, of which power banks accounts for 10%, charger accounts for 1 There are 41 suppliers who sells for huawei p9 power bank on Alibaba.com, mainly located in Asia. . There's system optimization, which attempts to clean up memory and empty out other files you might not need anymore. We generally let Android just do all this on its own. But if it makes you feel better, you can use it. Huawei's overly aggressive power consumption tool is here as well. And it's as annoying as ever. And just do yourself a favor and don't bother with the Swype-based keyboard. The self-proclaimed showpiece of Huawei's P9 is the 12 MP dual-camera (max. 3968x2976 px; 4:3) that according to the company has been developed in cooperation with Leica. It imports the flair of typical Leica photos in mobile photography. The jointly-developed image algorithm is to provide better results, especially in low light conditions. Huawei even speaks of a new era of smartphone photography. The dual-camera has two different sensors. The first is a conventional RGB sensor and the second takes only black/white photos. The black/white sensor is to collect more image data in low light. The Huawei P9 Lite Mini smartphone released in 2017. Link to comment There won't be a P9 max, there will only be a P9 plus, which will feature a 5.5 inch display. Sorry.Huawei has made some really good (if not necessarily inspiring) hardware for some time now. The Nexus 6P. The Mate series. Its Honor sub-brand. It helped spread good fingerprint sensors to the whole of Android. It's had above-average cameras for a while now. The anchor dragging it down has always been its EMUI software — its iOS-inspired user interface.

Leather Flip Case for Huawei P9 Wallet Funda Book Cover The 3 gigabytes of RAM is really the only questionable hardware decision for us at this point. While Huawei's software is extremely aggressive about memory management — and the Huawei Mate 8 with the Kirin 950 processor was pretty darn smooth — we've been running into a little bit of lag with the P9. Maybe not quite enough to sound the alarm at, but there have have been too many times where apps are a little slow to load (especially the camera), and we have to wonder if 3GB of RAM is enough for EMUI 4.1. The Huawei P9 with its co-engineered Leica camera setup could be one of the best smartphones Huawei has released to date? Let's find out in our P9 Huawei has included a battery manager which gives you a high level of control over battery related features. For example you can set a power plan.. Link to comment Early test pictures that I've taken show that the software needs refinement, but after a few updates it has a good chance of overtaking Iphone 6s. (Im not sure about S7). Same with Mate 8, after updates the camera improved greatly. There's nothing particularly exciting about the design — it's your standard smartphone slab, with nicely milled aluminum. It's pretty light at 144 grams and comes in at just under 7 millimeters in thickness — surprisingly thin for something with as big a battery as the P9 has.
All you really need to know is that it's fast and it's going to get you into your phone very quickly. Even the chamfers of the metal body are perfectly judged. This is an exceedingly common design feature these days, but on the P9 it’s somehow done better. No, this isn’t an empirical measure, but yes, it will be something you notice and enjoy while using the phone.

Pojemność:: 2900mAh | Gwarancja: 12 miesięcy Having built the excellent Nexus 6P for Google last year, Huawei returns in 2016 with its most beautiful design to date and a partnership with Leica that promises to “revolutionize smartphone photography.” The P9 has a dual-camera system, which I think represents the first steps toward the future of mobile photography, however the Leica branding is mostly just hype. It’s not really the reason why my SIM continues to make a happy home inside the P9.You can say this about Huawei: It's among the more consistent manufacturers when it comes to its industrial design. You can read that as "boring" if you want. But if you're looking for a solid, basic sort of smartphone, Huawei does this very well. (And has for a while.)The U.S. Commerce Department has confirmed a rule change that will allow it to block global chip supplies to Huawei. Chipmakers using American technology will now have to obtain a license from the U.S. before they can supply chips to Huawei.
A notification LED is situated behind the earpiece. Unfortunately, it can only be turned on and off in the settings; it cannot be configured otherwise. Are you the proud owner of the Huawei P9? Setting up an Android phone for the first time is pretty straight forward, but each device does have a few unique hardware and software characteristics which makes it special. And the Huawei P9 is no exception Notifications look different — and the icons are so small in the nav at the top of the screen they might as well not be there. But all in all this a very useable user interface. It just looks different than what you're used to.It's time to stop turning your nose up at Huawei's EMUI software. There are a ton of features (some new, some still hanging around) in EMUI 4.1. The launcher (that is to say the user interface) is so full of options, in fact, that you could spend a couple of weeks with it — which we have — and still find something new, which we are.
Huawei has make significant changes to Android. Notifications, the home screen settings menu and Quick Settings are structured differently. Under the hood are useful extras such as backup management, but also confounding features such as energy management. The latter restricts your accessibility to instant messengers, so you might miss some WhatsApp messages due to this. Huawei P9 lite also contains a number of camera functions designed to display the best side of anything you capture. Powered by 16nm HiSilicon Kirin 650 processor, Huawei P9 lite delivers a better experience, which affords excellent performance and low power consumption The biggest spec compromise that Huawei makes to hit its lower price point is in the resolution of the P9’s screen, which is a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS LCD. I’d make the same choice any day of the week, as none of the Quad HD alternatives present a tangible advantage to their greater resolution. That might change once mobile VR content becomes enticing enough for me to care to get a headset — those things benefit immensely from higher resolution — but for general smartphone use, the P9’s display is perfectly sufficient. To be fair to Samsung, HTC, and LG, their displays are more vibrant and prettier to look at, but that’s a matter of higher-quality components rather than having more pixels crammed in.The high-end finish has changed only modestly compared to the P8. The noticeable differences are found on the back. There are two smoothly integrated Leica cameras sitting in the housing above the fingerprint sensor. The collaboration with camera manufacturer Leica is shown in the form of a large logo on the right-hand side of this housing.
Huawei'in yeni nesil telefonları P9 ve P9 Plus cephesinden ilk satış rakamları geldi. Huawei P9 kısa süre önce ülkemizde ön sipariş almaya başladı. Huawei P8 satışları ikiye katlandı. Huawei P8 modeliyle karşılaştırıldığında P9'un dünya genelinde %130 daha iyi satış rakamlarına ulaştığı bildiriliyor There are a few variations on the specs front, depending on the particular model and region. There’s a 32 GB version with 3 GB of RAM and a 64 GB version with 4 GB of RAM. It seems that Europe will only be getting the 32 GB/3 GB version, which includes a microSD card slot. But Asian markets will get dual-SIM support plus the possibility of that extra 1GB of RAM and double the internal storage.Under motion gestures you can enable motions like flip to mute, raise to ear to answer calls, and a tilt motion to move icons and widgets. There is also the Knuckle gestures which allow you to take a screenshot by double tapping the screen with your knuckle, or drawing a letter to open an app. Both types of knuckle gesture can be disabled if you find they misfire. The tilt motion feature works from the home screen editing mode. If you touch and hold an icon or widget you can move it to another screen by tilting the phone to the left or right. As far as battery life goes, it's pretty much same as it ever was. A 3,000 mAh capacity is pretty standard at this point, and it's good for pretty much a full day's use. More time spent on LTE will chew away at that, of course. But if you're on good Wi-Fi, you shouldn't have a problem getting from sunup to sundown.
🇩🇪 🇳🇱 🇪🇸 🇵🇹 🇨🇳 🇮🇹 🇷🇺 🇭🇺 🇹🇷 🇸🇪 Android ARM Smartphone Touchscreen Leica style. Huawei relies entirely on the camera in the P8’s successor, and once again sets up an impressive overall package. The new showcase smartphone is even higher quality and the battery is also larger. However, there is still room for improvement. Update: firmware B391 adds a moments feature to the camera app. Perhaps you’re more interested in the larger Huawei P9 Plus? If you want one, your choice of where to buy it are limited at the moment. In the U.K., the Vodafone network has secured it as an exclusive, where it’ll cost you £15 with a two-year contract starting at £42 each month. Vodafone has one-year contracts at £57 each month and up, with the phone at £115.We photographed our test chart under the same conditions. We used the RGB and the black/white sensor separately. The color sensor reproduces very sharp outlines and does not have any problems with color gradients. Light blurriness is only seen at the edges in maximum zoom, which is not uncommon. The black/white sensor in the P9 delivers slightly better results and the peripheral areas are somewhat sharper.Metal and glass. Glass and metal. Fingerprint reader on the back, buttons where you'd expect to find them on the side. It's all in a really good size with a 5.2-inch screen. No too big, not too small. That display is excellent outdoors and in my eyes is better than what you get on the LG G5 or HTC 10, by far, with none of the polarization issues when wearing sunglasses. The top and bottom bezels maybe feel al little big, but some of that is the contrast in color between the colored metal and black screen.
Huawei has also expanded the camera's Pro mode. In addition to diverse settings, it supports photos in DNG format. The light sensitivity ranges from ISO 50 to 3200 and the exposure times from 1/4000 to 30 seconds. However, the Live View mode does not function reliably in long exposure, which we had also observed in the Galaxy S7. Although the Pro mode is available when using the black/white sensor, it is not possible to shoot DNGs. We tested Miracast in conjunction with an Amazon Fire TV Stick. Connecting was fast and easy. Simple contents, such as the user interface, were displayed correctly. However, when scrolling through the gallery it always took a moment before the next photo was loaded. Although rendering a video via the connection functioned with sound, it stuttered very heavily. In Professional Mode you can set ISO, white balance, shutter speed and other settings as you like. In addition, you shoot the images in RAW format. With JPEG compression you might notice some distortions and image quality loss. Below you can see an example of the distortions. The comparison image was taken with a Sony OX1.
Even if the performance Huawei's P9 cannot quite keep up with its rivals based on a current Exynos 8890 (Mali-T880 MP12) or Snapdragon 820 (Adreno 530), it has a lot of power under its hood. Currently, there is no game in the Play Store that pushes the P9 to its limits. As the benchmarks show, even demanding games like "Asphalt 8" and "Dead Trigger 2" run with high frame rates in the maximum detail level. However, the FPS seems to be limited in the former, since the frame rate frequency is very consistent. The sensors or touchscreen handling do not give any reason for complaint. However, the position of the speaker in landscape mode is not ideal for gaming since it is quickly covered by a hand. Then there's the fingerprint scanner. If you've ever used a Huawei phone before you'll know the company makes the strange decision of placing them on the back of the handset rather than below the display. It may be odd, but I prefer it here.Color choices for the Huawei P9 are aplenty with three types of gold available as well as silver and grey. Sadly, in the UK you can only buy the silver and grey versions and it isn't quite clear which will be on sale in Australia or the US yet.The Huawei P9 comes with a Full HD 5.2-inch IPS display and 2.5D glass. According to the specs, the display is capable of 500 nits of brightness and 96% color saturation. That 1920×1080 resolution yields a very decent 423 pixels per inch.
Link to comment I haven't protected 'any' of the apps and I know for a fact that they get killed when the screen is off but I have 'never' ever missed a single notification from not only WhatsApp but also from any other app! I don't know what problem you have but it might be something wrong with your C2DM or a connection fault!Even if Huawei has increased the price with its P9, the smartphone still offers a good price-performance ratio and a balanced overall package. However, the handset will not entirely satisfy fans of VR glasses or video enthusiasts.Based on its looks alone, the Huawei P9 is clearly targeted at the upper end of the market and it’s hard to deny that it’s quite a good looking handset. The P9 comes in six colors: white, grey, silver plus three variations of gold: rose, haze and “prestige”. In the hand, the Huawei P9 is definitely one of the nicest on the market and Huawei has done well to pack a flagship specs list in a profile so ergonomic and svelte.
There's a traffic manager so you can see what apps are using data — and when they're using data. There's a "harassment filter" for blocking unwanted calls and messages. You've got quick access to the battery manager, and its three power management plans, and an option for lowering the screen resolution even further to 720p. And you can lock individual apps behind a password or your fingerprint — which is something we want to see on every phone at this point. While the P9 is just fine in automatic mode — absolutely among the top cameras you can find in a smartphone — this is a pretty intimidating camera app. There is a LOT going on here. That's not to say this is a perfect phone, or maybe even the best Huawei has done. But it's probably the most complete thought from the Chinese manufacturer.I also took a number of monochrome images (one of the modes in the camera app) which I guess/hope uses the monochrome sensor:
. This is the lesser spec'd of the two P9 options, with 32GB of storage and 3GB of RAM, as provided to us by Huawei. It's running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, with EMUI 4.1.Overall, the power consumption is on a good level. Huawei's P9 primarily owes that to its frugality under load. The screen proves to be an energy-guzzler in idle mode. Perhaps Huawei can improve this section somewhat via an update. Huawei's P9 connects to the local Wi-Fi via the latest IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac standards. Therefore, it transmits in both the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz frequency bands. The range of the module is good; a strong signal was still displayed 15 meters (~49 ft) away from the access point (Devolo dLAN 1200+ Wifi ac), and browsing the Internet was still fast. The improved Signal+ technology helps to switch more efficiently between different networks, and better assess the quality.

The new Huawei P9's design looks like a successful combination of the P8 and Nexus 6P. The device has a 5.2-inch IPS panel, the latest Kirin 955 SoC, LTE Cat. 6 and micro-SD support. Our review sample comes with 3 GB of working memory and 32 GB of flash memory; a dual-SIM model is not intended for Europe. A premium model with 4 GB of working memory and/or an internal storage of 64 GB is also planned - but not yet for Europe, either. The larger configurations will be reserved for Huawei's P9 Plus. This model also has a 5.5-inch screen with press-touch, a stronger battery, stereo speakers and an infrared sensor. Google's Chrome is the standard preloaded browser. In conjunction with Huawei's P9, it delivers a very good browsing performance. Only the Galaxy S7 and iPhone 6s defeat the review sample in the comparison field. It is even slightly faster than the S7 in Basemark OS II, but the Mate 8 is faster next to the iPhone. Internet browsing is fast in everyday use. Link to comment Not sure where Eric got his review unit from. I have a P9 and im most impressed with it. Power Saving settings can be changed to suit any user's need similar to like on a laptop where you fiddle with power plans. For a 1080p LCD, this screen is so good you would almost think that its a Super Amoled (which i had with my Samsung Note). Sunlight legibility is pretty good. I dont even need to turn up full brightness to see clearly on the screen. The camera is very good, but it feels like its new and early days with one or two software updates away of really showing what this beast can really produce (watch out for DxOMark). The LED flash seems a bit dimmer. Nightshot for instance always come out blurry and video quality is suprisingly average for a Leica branded cam. OIS would have been like steroids for the cam. Interestingly, Huawei will release a big update to the OS in the third quarter bringing overall refinements and simplification, but still retaining the rich features. Huawei's P9 records video only in Full HD (1920x1080 px; 30 or 60 FPS). The recordings in 60 frames per second are visibly darker. Users who are happy with 1080p at 30 FPS will be provided with a very good result. Unfortunately, it is not possible to record in Ultra HD, and special recording modes such as time lapse and slow-motion are only possible in 720p. On the other hand, the recorded stereo sound is always really good. The daylight photo quality of Huawei's P9 appealed to us. Photos are very dynamic and sharp. Colors tend to look warmer and stronger, but this is not annoying. The opposite is true: It gives the photos a unique look. The photos generally make a very high-contrast impression. The quality decreases in difficult light conditions, but the P9 still does a good job. The white balance in particular is better than those of the rivals; outlines remain clear and there is not as much image noise. We see the P9 before the iPhone 6s and LG G5 in the comparison field. However, it cannot compete with the low-light performance of the Galaxy S7. My feelings toward Huawei’s dual-camera system fluctuated from initial disdain — yet another imaging gimmick to avoid talking about how much better Apple and Samsung are — to substantial enthusiasm once I started taking pictures with it. Link to comment Jessica, can you find out any info for me on the p9 max? There was mentions of it before the 'announcement', but nothing since... is Huawei going to release the p9 max or not? Huawei claims that the dual-camera design on the P9 fully unleashes the power of Leica's optical lenses, lending precision, detail, and quality to the photos it takes. Our Verdict The P9 is another accomplished smartphone from Huawei, with an innovative camera setup and plenty of power under the hood. But it's not perfect, and there are still issues with the heavy Emotion UI.I found myself rarely using the power button as the fingerprint scanner turns the phone's screen on anyway. The slight grated effect on the button made it easy to identify when in the pocket though. I regularly find myself reaching into my pocket to adjust volume controls and on some phones you can hit the wrong button, but there's no excuse for that here.A lot of Android manufacturers choose to put it within the home key under the screen or even on the side of the phone, but on the rear it's a much more natural position.
The Huawei P9 features a single speaker on the bottom edge, next to the Type-C USB port. The speaker is quite loud and the sound is reasonable considering it isn’t a front facing speaker. However, as with many smartphones, music can sound a bit thin with a lack of bass. I found that at full volume some tracks tended to distort and that the sound quality improved when the volume was actually turned down a notch or two.The Corning Gorilla Glass surface of Huawei's P9 ensures superb gliding qualities on the touchscreen. Inputs are implemented quickly and accurately. We did not notice any issues in the peripheral areas. Huawei's proprietary keyboard, familiar from handsets such as the Mate 8 or P8, is installed. An alternative layout can be downloaded from the Play Store if preferred. What is the difference between Huawei P9 Plus and Huawei P9? Find out which is better and their overall performance in the smartphone ranking
The screen in Huawei's P9 has a size of 5.2 inches and once again uses the IPS NEO technology familiar from the P8. The Chinese manufacturer still holds tight to the Full HD resolution, but has announced that they will install higher resolution screens in future due to VR (we reported). The decision is quite reasonable, but the current resolution is perfectly adequate for all other tasks and achieves a decent pixel density of 424 PPI. Huawei's new flagship phone is the P9. The fourth model in the P series, which began with the Ascend P6 in 2013, has a lot going for it in comparison to its direct predecessor, the Huawei P8. With the latest iteration comes more power, a Leica dual camera and a higher price which still hovers below.. The Huawai P9 features an in-house Kirin 955 SoC build on 16nm FinFET. It is a slightly beefed up version of the Kirin 950 that featured in the Mate 8. The chip boasts an octa-core CPU configuration built from four Cortex-A72, clocked at 2.5GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores, clocked at 1.8GHz. The chip also features a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU, which is certainly the most powerful graphics chip in a Huawei phone to date. The Cortex-A72 core is the latest, and highest performing, 64-bit core design from ARM. The use of a Cortex-A72 & Cortex-A53 octa-core SoC is reflected in the benchmarks. The Huawei P9 scored 1751 on Geekbench’s single-core test and 6583 for the multi-core test. For some context, those scores are better than the Snapdragon 810 and the Exynos 7420. Compared to the Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890, the Kirin 955’s single core results are lower, however the multi-core score is higher. In other words, according to Geekbench at least, this is a leading flagship processor.
Huawei strongly believes in its handset and this is reflected in the warranty. 36 months is included when purchasing the P9. That is a real statement in the smartphone sector and makes the smartphone also interesting to the business sector. For this, the smartphone has to be connected to a free Huawei account. The end result? Some pretty good pictures. I'm not really a fan of all the film modes Huawei included here. (Other manufacturers have been doing that as well.) And I'd prefer to switch the top-level macro button for HDR, as the aperture control is really aggressive and looks over-processed, like what we'd get from the single-lens cameras through software a few years ago. (As in the out-of-focus parts are really out of focus.)
Like the P9, it is powered by a Kirin 955 octa-core chipset. The P9 Plus comes with 4GB RAM and a choice between 64 or 128GB of storage. Huawei says it can capture 200% more light than the RGB sensor, overall making the P9 camera 100% more light-sensitive than conventional smartphone.. Repair firmware solutions for Huawei P9 Plus VIE-L29 if boot loop, Hard brick, Lost recovery, or can't boot to home screen, etc. Rollback Package Huawei P9 Plus VIE-L29 from Android 7.0 Nougat EMUI 5.0 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow EMUI 4.1, C900B300 -> Download Here The battery life of the Huawei P9 is very good and suitable for heavy users. Even after several hours of play or photographing the battery lasts for a decent amount of time. It’ll last you for a full day before needing to be charged. Software optimizations for power saving are effective, however, they also inhibit background activity, such as with WhatsApp. This can lead to some messages arriving late. It's worth highlighting the USB Type-C support on the P9. Not every phone manufacturer has embraced the new connection technology but the P9 uses a USB-C port for charging and data transfer.. It’s thin, has a decent sized battery, offers great performance and is a good improvement over its predecessor. The problem with the wide spread adoption of Huawei’s smartphones seems to be EMUI.At the end of the day this is still a smartphone camera. But it's still a REALLY good one, with tons of options. An 8 MP camera (3264x2448 pixels) with an aperture of f/2.4 is situated on the front. It still functions decently in low-light environment and has many features. Once again, the beauty mode familiar from the P8 that offers 10 soft-focus levels is installed. It can now be used in video mode also, but reduces the recording quality to 720p as opposed to 1080p that is possible in the standard mode. The same is true for time lapse mode. The sound is recorded in stereo quality and makes a good impression.
The biggest problem for us at this point is availability, and price. You still can't get phones running Huawei's own Kirin processor in the United States. While the P9 is launching in a whole bunch of other countries, it's not necessarily cheap there — the retail price starts at €599 Euros (about $680 U.S. dollars) for the 32-gigabyte storage option, and ramping up to €649 Euros ($737 U.S. dollars) for the 64-gigabyte option with 4 gigs of RAM. That's a lot of money (though price does vary some depending on your country) and it puts the P9 in the same range as the Galaxy S7 or a top-spec'd iPhone — which is exactly the league Huawei wants to play in.. The battery is recharged to 20% within 15 minutes. 50% is reached in 44 minutes and 80% after 72 minutes. The P9 is fully recharged in exactly two hours.Huawei's fingerprint sensors have consistently been ahead of the competition, and the P9's seems to be the best one yet. No other phone has been as reliable and consistent in recognizing my fingerprint as this one. It's as good as, if not better than, Apple's Touch ID and Google's Nexus Imprint.Audio from the bottom mono speaker performs well during hands-free calling. The included earphones provide good enough sound so that you can enjoy music. Sound from the ear speaker is balanced and allows for calls in noisy environments.
As you can see from the specs, there are a couple versions of the P9 floating around out there. We've got the one with 32 gigabytes of storage and 3GB of RAM. We've got about 25 gigabytes to use for apps and pics and stuff. (And after a couple weeks we're down to 16GB of that still free.) Huawei still isn't a household name in every corner of the world, despite having ousted Microsoft last summer to become the world's third-largest That was more than six months ago, but it's with that kind of exposure in mind that we welcome Huawei's latest flagship, the P9, and see what it has to offer Huawei is continuing its solid run that started with great smartphones long before the Nexus 6P and the Mate 8. The company is succeeding to gain international recognition and the launch of the Huawei P9, together with its Leica partnership, means that Huawei has its sights set on the top.
Most images can impress with breathtaking detail and dynamic range. But on closer inspection you may see blurring, as shown in the image below. Huawei's P9 uses the GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou satellite networks for localization. It displayed an accuracy of 8 meters (~26 ft) indoors. The smartphone is even more accurate outdoors with up to 6 meters (~20 ft). Some other handsets do a better job here. Huawei has included a battery manager which gives you a high level of control over battery related features. For example you can set a power plan which will tweak the CPU according to your usage (and so save battery when possible). One interesting feature which I haven’t seen before is the ability to change the screen resolution from Full HD to 720p. According to the battery manager app this can help save power! Other battery related options include a whitelist function to ensure that certain apps keep running after the screen is turned off and a power usage firewall which warns you about power hungry apps.
Huawei keeps pace with its more reputable competitors by offering storage expandability via microSD card — the slot for it sits on the same tray as the nano-SIM card — and a 3,000mAh battery. Only the Xiaomi Mi 5 can compete with the P9 for the title of being the thinnest and lightest smartphone with a battery of that size. Unfortunately, the P9 differs in one important respect and that’s the actual battery life. Znajdziesz u nas etui pasujące do HUAWEI P9 Lite. powered by. Huawei wants to play with the big boys. The Huawei P9 has dimensions of 145 x 71 x 7mm while the iPhone 6S is 138 x 67 x 7.1mm. So there's just a few millimeters in it, yet Huawei manages to include a 5.2-inch screen while the iPhone 6S only has a 4.7-inch display Sadly, the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus won’t arrive in the U.S. any time soon, but they were made available in a number of European, Asian, and Middle Eastern countries from April 16. It’s unknown whether the P9 and P9 Plus will reach other areas in the near future. The P9 is now up for order through several networks in the U.K., and ready to buy in Huawei’s own Vmall online store. It’s available in Mystic Silver and Titanium Grey for £450 (about $650), and that’s for the model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage space. The O2 network also has the P9 available on several monthly tariffs starting £29 (about $41) each month and £10 ($15) up front for the phone. Vodafone and EE offer similar deals, while Three is a little cheaper each month at £21 ($30), but you’ll pay £100 ($145) up front for the phone. Carphone Warehouse also has the P9 on a variety of networks.
Over the full term of owning a phone, the better cameras, performance, and battery life of Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and Apple’s iPhone make them preferable choices ahead of the Huawei P9. This new smartphone has important limitations that must temper my enthusiasm. But for now at least, I remain enamored with the P9’s perfect proportions, unfailingly fast fingerprint sensor, and intelligent software additions. Should Huawei release a version of this phone built around the Snapdragon 820 processor, my biggest worries about battery life and performance will perish into nothing. The Huawei P9 is a major stride forward from a smartphone maker on its way to competing with the very best. With a bigger screen comes a larger 3,400mAh battery, which should help keep the phablet-sized P9 Plus up and running. The P9 Plus also packs dual-IC Rapid Charge, which will give you as much as six hours of talk time after just a 10-minute charge. The P9 Plus also has the same processor as the P9, but it comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage by default. Both sensors’ images are combined via software, so that, overall, 90 percent more information is provided per picture as in a photo shot with the Galaxy S7. This manifests itself in file sizes of more than 5 MB per photo. That had as much to to with how EMUI was implemented as it did the fact that it's simply different than what most of us on Android are used to. No app drawer. A different sort of notification drawer and quick-settings scheme. And in the process of changing all that, things were broken — particularly when Huawei's phones were sold outside China and Google's services were added back in.
Overall you will be able to get through a full day without needing to reach for the charger. During my tests I got over 4.5 hours of screen-on time during a 24 hour period. Activities during that time included 3D gaming, web browsing and taking lots of photos. The Huawei P9 is a high-end Android smartphone produced by Huawei. It was released in April 2016 in London. It is the successor to the Huawei P8 and maintains almost the same design but now has.. Huawei claims that the dual-camera design on the P9 “fully unleashes the power of Leica’s optical lenses,” lending precision, detail, and quality to the photos it takes. The two 12-megapixel camera sensors on the back of the phone work together to create one image that captures both natural color and impressive detail, Huawei says. The RGB camera on the P9 focuses on capturing the color in an image, while the monochrome camera snaps up all the detail. The company also boasted about the P9 camera’s low-light performance.
The charging process is entirely controlled by the phone and the battery electronics, the charger has no role beyond providing power. The phone might draw too much current and trigger overcurrent or thermal protection in the charger. If this happens often, the charger might fail prematurely Huawei's P9 feels good in the hand. The casing is still made of an aluminum unibody, but the edges are rounder than those of the predecessor, which ensures a pleasant grip. Although the metal back is relatively sleek, it is not as extreme as in devices with an entirely glass back. According to the manufacturer, the smartphone is now half a millimeter (~0.02 in) thicker. We measured a height of 7.1 millimeters (~0.28 in). This is due to the larger battery that simply needs more space. Once again, it is not removable. Other modes include night shot, for better night time shots, time-lapse, slow-mo, and watermark. There is also a series of live filters available if you want to get a little fancy with your picture taking. Huawei also added a light painting mode, that lets you capture light trails created by things like moving cars, or the stars in the sky. The effect can be really cool, but does require very steady hands, or a tripod mount, to get the shot to look the way you might want it.Personally I think the display is a real highlight of the Huawei P9. It's large considering the compact size of the phone as a whole. It features a 5.2-inch 1080p screen that some have seemed disappointed in as it didn't follow through with the 2K jump the Nexus 6P began.
The battery in Huawei's P9 now provides 3000 mAh, which is considerably more than the former P8 (2680 mAh). The battery life can keep up well in the comparison field. The tests using an adapted screen brightness of 150 cd/m² are most significant. The P9 prevails over its rivals in the "Wi-Fi browsing test", and is only defeated by the Mate 8 with a much larger battery (4000 mAh). The video playback times are also very good, but almost all rivals can offer more here. Overall, the P9 has good endurance. Huawei's 2016 flagship smartphone. Features a unibody case and dual rear-camera setup developed in partnership with Leica. Comes in 32/64 GB storage options and six different finishes. That battery was DEAD it had NO power left in it. My phone wouldn't turn on unless I plugged the charger in
Since the P9 uses on-screen keys, Huawei as added the ability to customize the order of the navigation buttons. By default the back button is on the left and the recent apps is on the right. However this can be reversed. It is also possible to add a fourth button for opening the notification panel. Tapping the icon is the equivalent to dragging the notification shade down from the top.Huawei's P9 has a mono speaker situated beside the smartphone's USB port. Thus, the handset can also be placed on a table without covering the speaker. The quality is quite decent in medium volume and even manages to render mids. The P9 reaches an acoustic pressure of up to 87.91 dB(A) in maximum volume, which is comparatively loud. Unfortunately, the components then tend to distort slightly as can be seen in the Pink Noise diagram. The trebles in particular overdrive then. The user interface can be changed with various design packages, which replace app icons, wallpaper and lock screen image. To download new themes, you’ll need to log in with a Huawei ID.
The two sensor set up makes this one of the best camera phones you can buy right now, working is a different way to the dual snappers found on the iPhone 7 Plus and LG G5. Huawei made a big deal out of it by including a lot of professional photographers at the launch to highlight its powers, but I don't think that's entirely accurate. For more memory and a bigger 5.5 inch display, you can get the 699 euro P9 Plus version, which will be around £600.I wasn’t always so impressed with Huawei’s software optimizations. Both power and memory are managed by non-changeable background services. Their functionality is well intentioned but can cause some issues, such as when receiving messages. I received several WhatsApp messages the day after they were sent and so missed important appointments. There is a way to exclude some apps from these restrictive measures. But this had no effect on WhatsApp, as I saw with the patchy transmission of texts. Software updates will fix this hopefully. Even with its large battery, this phone consumes a lot of power when connected to LTE and runs out of juice comparatively quickly. On one particularly intensive day out at meetings — where I took notes on Google Keep like a true Born Mobile millennial — I found myself needing to recharge the P9 by the afternoon. I’m usually an extremist when it comes to power management and not being able to complete a productive day’s use without recharging came as an unhappy surprise. I shot photos, browsed the web, tweeted some wisecracks out into the ether — but I don’t think I did anything that would have tripped up, say, the HTC 10 in quite the same way. The Huawei difference? It uses the Chinese company’s own Kirin 955 processor rather than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 that has quickly become the flagship standard this year.Like any other smartphone, the Huawei P9 is great at idling and lasts for a good couple of days if only connecting to Wi-Fi, but unlike its 2016 rivals, its efficiency when actually doing things is not impressive. This is one aspect of Huawei’s product design that hasn’t improved: I felt similarly let down by the Kirin chip inside 2014’s P7. One note of optimism for prospective US buyers: if the P9 makes its way to American shores, it’s highly likely that it will do so with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 powering it. In that case, you can probably expect battery life similar to that of the Xiaomi Mi 5, which has the same battery size and display specs.
Link to comment I m an N6P user but still I REALLY REALLY want the Leica lenses on my phone, and the sample photos seen so far are gorgeous, way better than current flagships. Huawei P9- The First Pure Huawei Flagship USB Type-C Phone Doesn't Support Any Form of Quick Charging. The Huawei P9 also has a terrible habit of nagging me with annoying notifications by default. I constantly received warnings that an app was using too much power, even..
The fingerprint scanner on the P9 is what the company refers to as "Level 4". Huawei hasn't made it clear exactly what that means apart from it's meant to be better than the "Level 3" scanner from the Huawei Mate 8. Huawei's fingerprint sensors have consistently been ahead of the competition, and the P9's seems to be the best one yet. No other phone has been There's clearly enough power here to handle intensive tasks — photos shot with the two cameras are processed almost as swiftly as a single capture on any.. We used our photospectrometer and CalMAN analysis software for checking the color reproduction accuracy. Although an improvement over the former P8 is noticed, the rivals can reproduce colors even more accurately. Aberrations from the reference colors are particularly visible in the standard settings. The grayscale levels display a bluish tint, and some deviation is also seen in mixed colors. The warm color setting is most accurate, should precision be needed. However, this will annoy very few users since it is an issue of fine color differences. Fortunately, the color space coverage is very wide. Huawei P9 Android smartphone. Announced Apr 2016. The Huawei P9 is a great smartphone for photography buffs, with image post-processing being some of the best you’ll find in any phone. Improvements are needed in the power-saving department but, since I have had good experiences with Huawei devices in terms of software optimization, I don’t see this as a deal breaker. It can prove a little irritating if you've got accessories with microUSB connectors, but it makes it much easier to fit the charger in as it works either way up. Das Huawei P9 ist das Flaggschiff und der Nachfolger des P8. Das Full-HD-Display ist 5,2 Zoll groß. Der Kirin-Octacore-Prozessor wird von 3 GB Arbeitsspeicher unterstützt. I don’t care for the Leica fanfare surrounding the launch of the P9, but this smartphone’s existence will certainly have a positive effect on how the Huawei brand is perceived. The P9 proves that Huawei can make great phones outside of Google’s Nexus program, and it extends a budding tradition of excellence at Huawei. The components that Huawei has installed in its smartphone generally function well, but they are not always state-of-the-art. For example, LTE Cat. 9 is not on board, but rather only the older Cat. 6 version. However, it has a very wide frequency range. It is also pleasing that the phone qualities have not been neglected. The P9 offers a very good call quality and decent background noise suppression. It's all kinds of busy — pretty much any feature you could hope for is baked in here. A swipe left gets you to 14 modes, including HDR, beauty, panoramas, light painting, time lapse, slow motion, watermarks, document reading, audio notes, night shots, video, black-and-white — you get the idea. A swipe the other direction gets you to the world of settings, including a bunch of film modes. Pull up from the bottom and you'll get full manual controls, including the option to shoot in RAW.

Huawei's flagship P9 is perhaps best seen as a camera with a smartphone attached. Sporting not just the Leica brand name -- one of the most well-respected names in the photography industry -- it also has not one but two cameras on its back. One lens shoots exclusively in black and white, while the two.. The P9 is a little taller than the iPhone, but that's not a problem. The bezels along the top and bottom of the display are still slim, but allow Huawei to pack a lot of tech inside without compromising the look of the handset.I was especially impressed with how bright the screen can be– the Huawei P9 makes a gorgeous picture when watching video. It's not as stunning as the Nexus 6P screen, but that phone suffers for the luxury by offering poorer battery life.
